My female Finch keeps attacking the male

Why does the female keep attacking the male? They are new together and someone told me it’s because she’s trying to pair with him, but honestly he tries hiding from her because all she does is attack

Answer:

Hi,

Some birds simply do not get along. In the wild, they choose a mate, so they do not always like the mate we choose for them. Sometimes the problem is one bird might be older. She may be mature already, but he isn’t so she attacks him out of frustration. I would split these birds up before she really hurts him or kills him. If they are the same age, then it sounds like they just aren’t compatible.

Thank you for asking Lafeber,
