Abnormal feather – Dr. Lamb Webinar Feb 10

my female pineapple gcc will grow a bad feather every once in a while. I believe it comes from the same area of her body. her regular blood work hasn’t indicated anything. is this concerning?

Answer:

Not necessarily. Sometimes a feather will come in abnormally and if it’s a single feather it may be an incidental problem. If it’s the same site always then I would suspect there was some change to the feather follicle at that location where its coming from for some reason. That can be from something like previous trauma at the site or some odd genetic anomaly.
