My lovebird started biting

At first my lovebird was so kind and sweet when I put her with me alone but when I put her in another cage in a kitchen there’s another bird in another cage and he was a lovebird but untamed I think she learned agressive behavior from that bird so any advices to get my bird not to bite me?

Answer:

Hi Joanna,

Female lovebirds are notoriously territorial. It usually starts when they first get hormonal around a year old. Another bird can trigger the behavior, but she would get territorial at some point anyway. Usually all you have to do is get her out of sight of her cage and she will be fine. Stick training is a great way to get a territorial bird away from the cage so you do not get bit. I’ll give you the links to our behavior & training pages to give you more information and ideas.
