My bird problem

Recently my bird lost his abillity to fly and he is lossing feather too ..but there is no problem with food or anything and yes we checked him with doctor there is no no problem he said

Answer:

Hi,

If the bird was losing feathers first, then maybe he is going through a heavy molt? This can affect his ability to fly. Although it should not, some birds seem to molt more heavily in captivity than in the wild. If he has bare skin showing, then he is possibly pulling out his own feathers. There are also viruses or other disorders that can cause feather loss, and again, any loss of long wing feathers can affect flight. Of course these are all guesses. There is certainly something wrong here that the vet didn’t diagnose. The bird needs to have test run for viruses and internal problems. There is no way we can know why this is going on because there are so many possible causes.

Take care,

Brenda
