Female budgie beak

My female parakeet has developed a change in the color of the nostril area from light to much darker. Is this an indication of a nutrient deficiency or what?

If you are talking about the cere – the skin around the nostrils, the color and texture changes when the female is in breeding condition. It will take on a brown, crusty appearance. So this is likely what is going on.
