Sudden Death of Baby Sparrow

I had a baby sparrow fall out of its nest a few days back. I started feeding him, and it had gotten a lot better. He was hopping and running around in 3 days, and seemed much healthier. I went out somewhere last night for 4-5 hours, and came back to find him dead. What could’ve happened? I checked on him just before I went and he was perfectly fine.

There is no way to know why it died. It may have been sick to begin with, or it may have gotten hurt in the fall. I don’t know what you were feeding it, but just the sudden diet change could be a factor. At least it had someone to care for him and give him a chance.
