Hello
I was given two parakeets have had them in the past how to get them to eat pellets? I’ve been mixing a few in the food dish but so far they haven’t touched them. Would it be alright to grind the pellets up to almost a powder add that to the food they are used too?

Converting can take some time – just keep offering the pellets in the dish with their seeds. You might try our Nutri-Berries or Avi-Cakes. These diets are nutritionally balanced the same as a pellet, but they are not ground up. We use fresh human grade ingredients. Our seeds have the hulls removed so that the added nutrients aren’t lost as they are with loose seeds. Since they are used to seed, they will easily convert to these.
