my parrot has diarrhea


hello i bought 8 weeks old african grey parrot a 4 days ago and i have a questions is it normal that my bird breathing with its mouth and the second question is my bird has diarrhea and there is no veterinarians for birds in my city and the color of his poop at the first day was green diarrhea and yesterday its was watery so what should i do and i want to know if i can give him antibiotic at this young age and is it safe to give him 2 in 1 antibiotic which contain enrofloxacin and tylosin or should i give him amoxicillin and sorry for my bad english

Hi,

Unfortunately this bird sounds very sick and needs immediate Veterinary care. I’m very sorry, but we can’t give out medical advice by law, and would not know what to advise anyway without being able to examine the bird. Even if you have to travel, you should find a Vet. You may try calling the breeder because most breeders have a Vet they work with. Pet birds need regular Vet care, so you need to have a Vet if you are going to have a pet bird.
