Nesting my male Cocktail does it

My male Cocktail do some nesting
Often. Is that something that makes do. No female in the picture

Answer:

Hi,

Some males will do this. He should not have any type of nest in the cage and you should not allow him to make a nest or use anything as a nest. You can try to limit his light to 8-10 hours by covering the cage early each evening. You can also move the cage around often. Don’t let him roam around the house – this mimics looking for a nesting site. If he gets obsessed with a toy and treats it like a mate, remove the toy. Keep mirrors away from him. It isn’t healthy for him to always nest – it can lead to some health issues.
