Lovebirds

Brenda, thanks for your reply. Very helpful! One more question. I took all four chicks out last night and rearranged the cage with toys and perches, covered them up early and quit giving them fresh food as you suggested. We had only noticed them mating one time two days ago, but today, they were going at it several times. At this point, should I keep them together and throw the eggs as they come or separate them for awhile?

Answer:

Hi,

You might need to split them up, but they may drive you crazy with contact calls. Keep moving the cage around and between that and limiting the daylight, they will hopefully stop for now. Yes, you can throw away new eggs, but of course the main thing is to get her to stop for her own health. You might also try giving them some new toys as a distraction.

Thanks for the update!

Brenda
