why is my two birdaying egg

umm it answerd my question partially as why did the female bird bread and again did the same thing with the other bird and they two are in the next and they two also lay eggs for the thought one of my lovebird is laying fertile eggs while the other on is laying unfertile egg why is this

Answer:

Hi,

Birds do not have to mate to lay eggs. Mating does not mean the eggs will be fertile. You can’t tell if the eggs are fertile until they have been incubated for a few days. It takes at least 48 hours for any development to even begin. It takes a few more days to possibly see veins if you candle the egg. As for why eggs aren’t fertile, there can be many reasons including unsuccessful mating or a physical issue like illness with either bird.
