Both my male and female cockatiels are in the nest

My cockatiels have been mating for a while and I’m expecting eggs but the last couple of days they have been staying in the nest and I was wondering if it’s possible time for the eggs?
Side note : I have checked there are no eggs

Answer:

Hi,

Mating does not have to result in eggs. The best thing to do is give them their privacy and hopefully the female will lay fertile eggs. It’s important for both birds to be at least 2 years old. If they are younger, they typically only want to mate and will often eat any eggs as they are laid. They need to be on a nutritionally balanced diet like pellets, along with leafy greens and chopped veggies. If they only eat seeds, they should not be set up for breeding until they are converted to a better diet. While they are set up for breeding, you should offer an egg food daily. This can be a dry commercial egg food or you can cook an egg with the shell washed, crushed and cooked with the egg.
