Weird sound for a cockatiel

I have 2 cockatiels, im not really sure that the grey one is a female, beacuse it dosent have a white face, but is not fully grey.
So, Karma, the grey one, makes a ,,chirp” sound, but is more like a ,,cip”.Not the normal loud ,,cip” they make, but one not loud. I saw when i was doing homework, she made ,,cip” while opening her mouth(im not english, i forgot the word that shows that you’re tired and open your mouth). She was doing this again and again, and i got her in my hand, scared that she was having something in her troath, like a rope. She didnt have, and stoped when i putted her back(and when i got her)

She dont seems to have healt problems, she comports normaly, fly normaly and ,,chirp” normaly, but somethimes makes that strange ,,cip”, that is not loud…..

Answer:

Hi,

Cockatiels make a variety of noises and males & females each have certain sounds only they make. If your bird is healthy, then it’s probably a normal sound. If you feel she is at risk, you should take her to an Avian Vet.
