Hi,
Greys are a powder species, so your bird will always have dander and flakes. They produce a powder that coats their feathers rather than having the oil gland. It’s not recommended to use anything that might reduce their powder, so I would not use the aloe again. It sounds like her skin is perfectly normal for a Grey. You should not bathe her too often. If she doesn’t want a bath, she probably doesn’t need one. As for the heater – is it actually inside of the cage? This doesn’t sound safe at all if it is electric. Most birds do not need a heater as long as the home has heat. If you are comfortable, the bird is comfortable. Parrots can deal with colder temperatures better than excessive heat. Providing additional heat can cause too much molting or can trigger hormones & egg laying. Parrots do well in temperatures as low as 50 degrees Fahrenheit. And anything above 90 degrees F can be too hot for most parrots. Most parrots do well with the average temperature of 68-72 degrees F, again, going for the lower end rather than keeping the room too warm. I also don’t think the dehumidifier is needed. Greys come from a humid environment so they thrive with more humidity. If you keep it too dry, this can cause dry skin and issues with the sinuses.
Thank you for asking Lafeber,
