Budgie egg broken even after incubating

My budgie sat on the egg for 20 days now and she threw 2 eggs out of the 3 eggs… I checked that one egg was empty it was clearly white while the other hand a little crack but I checked it was red and black in the half of the egg… While the 3rd egg is with her itself in her pot. I took the 2nd egg and gave it back to her in her nest. What should I do ? Should I check both the eggs in front of her?I dnt understand 😭

Answer:

Hi,

It sounds like the eggs are not good. Usually when a hen throws her eggs out of the box after this much time, she knows the eggs are not going to hatch. The best thing to do is let her discard the eggs if that is what she thinks is best. Unfortunately this is part of breeding and often clutches do not work out. Once she is done with these eggs, you need to remove her nesting box and rest the pair for 6 months before letting them breed again.
