Hi,
I’m sorry you lost a chick. But this happens with breeding. Sometimes the parents fail to feed it or there may have been something wrong with it. Leave the rest of the eggs in the nest, because some still may hatch. Since the eggs are laid every other day, they hatch in the same order. You should be feeding the parents a nutritionally balanced diet such as pellets, along with leafy greens, veggies and an egg food while they are breeding. You can offer a commercial dry egg food or cook an egg with the shell washed, crushed and cooked with the egg. If you are only feeding seeds, the chicks are not likely to survive. Seeds do not offer much nutrition, and the parents need the pellets, fresh foods and egg to feed the chicks.
Take care,
Brenda
