Male female

I have 2 birds, 1 yellow shouldered (20+ years ) and a orange winged (40+years) amazon parrot.
Can they be put together?
Can they mate?
Can they reproduce together?

Answer:

Hi,

You can try to put them together and watch them closely to see if they get along. However, if these are pets, then you should not cage them together or you will lose them as pets. I do not recommend trying to breed these birds. If you cage them together, do not give them a nest or anything they can nest in. If the hen lays any eggs, throw them away. Breeding different species with each other is very much frowned upon and should not be done deliberately. And at 40 years old, an Amazon is too old to start breeding in the first place. This is an age that the bird would be retired as a breeder.
