Cockatiel egg

I have a cockatiel egg that has finally dipped down. What I mean by that is the aircell has turned on a tilt, and I can see the chicks shadow within the aircell. Now the problem is knowing when it will internally pip. If you know please let me know!

Answer:

Hi,

Cockatiel eggs take 18-20 days to hatch, but they can take a few days longer. This is from the time each egg was laid, so they hatch in the order they were laid. If you know when she laid each egg, that gives you an idea. But it’s best not to keep handling the eggs. It can upset the parents and cause them to abandon their nest if you interfere too much. Especially if these are first time parents. They should have as much privacy as possible.

Thank you for asking Lafeber,
