Polymers budgies can chew through.

Thank you for your very forthright answers to my last questions. Good to have clarity at the planning stage rather than once the babies are in the house.

Trying to understand what non metals are budgie safe for toys.
1. Could a budgie bite through a 2mm solid nylon thread? It is a single solid tread rather than a braid which can come apart and pose a strangling hazard with the strands. I’m any case, the length (10 mm) is unlikely to be a strangling hazard even if bit.

2. Can budgies chew through a 1mm/2mm/3mm acrylic rod?

Answer:

Hi,

Budgies have very strong beaks and can eventually chew through any type of plastic if they are determined.

Thank you for asking Lafeber,
