Hi

Hi my budgie laid two eggs on the floor and we found them broken and then she just laid another egg that was fine on the floor i picked it up and put it in her breding box and she threw it back out

Answer:

Hi,

Some birds aren’t good breeders. Egg breaking is a bad habit, and one that usually continues. Is your bird at least 18 months to 2 years old? A bird under this age is really too young to be breeding and is more likely to develop bad habits like this. They aren’t ready to settle down and care for eggs yet. If she breaks the remaining eggs, I would remove the nest box and rest the pair for 6 months before letting them try again. Maybe she will settle down some and do better next time. If she keeps breaking eggs, then it’s best not to try to breed this pair again. Forming and laying eggs is hard on a hen, and she should be laying eggs to often.
