Breeding budgies

My male budgie wants to breed with my female budgies but she is uninterested so I want to find him a new female budgies that’s ready to breed what do I look for?

Answer:

Hi,

Not all birds are compatible and as you have found out, they do not always accept the mate we choose for them. In the wild, they choose their own mate. There is nothing you can do or look for to make a mate more desirable. All you can do is try another female and see if they bond. Of course the other female should not be in the same cage or near the cage. You can only have one pair of birds in a cage for breeding.

Thank you for asking Lafeber,

Brenda
