How to identify age of conure?

I would like to know the age of my Jenday conure and if we could tell the gender (we think he is male but just to be sure) that would be great as well. He has a yellowish orange head with red around his eyes and beak, and green back and wings, more blue to the bottom of wings and tail, and has a orange red chest/body. his legs are green with a little orange, and feet are pink to the top and a bit darker near the nails. he has a tiny bit of black on his wings in the shape of a u. He is a Jenday Conure.

Answer:

Hi,

Once a Jenday gets all of its adult colors, then there is no way to tell the age other than older than about 2 or 3. As for gender, you would need to have a DNA test run. Males and Female Jendays are identical as is the case for most parrot species.

Thank you for asking Lafeber,
