Sexing

How can you tell if you have a male or female after their first molting? I just bought a six week old that the breeder believes is a male but of course unsure

Answer:

Hi,

All cockatiels look like females until their first adult molt, 8mo’s to 1 year. If your bird is over a year old, it might be visually sexed depending on the mutation. You can send pics to [email protected] and I can let you know.

Thank you for asking Lafeber,

Brenda
