I first bought this item today for my Parrot. I didn’t give him any yet. After reading how it can spoil in a Refrigerator, is a Must know even before you purchase any Animal Food Items. I purchased other items of yours, and kept them in my refrigerator. It still smelled fresh, and my Parrot enjoyed eating these small flavor balls
Once you open any good source, you need to refrigerator them. Small ants find their way into any plastic bags. Very unfortunate. So if you freeze these pellets, how do you give to your parrot? Most parrots want their food at once. Leaving food out overnight would be an unhealthy means of eating the following day? I Change my parrot’s food in the morning, but who knows if he ate some earlier? I’m mainly afraid of bugs finding their meal. I never heard of Bird food going bad once you despense it daily? Parrots eat more than once a day. Leaving Avi Cakes in a dry cool place will be safe? I can’t see how Bird seed would ever go bad once giving it to your feathered friend? No one would hurt a parrot that loves its owner.

Our recommendations are intended for storing our food. Some people store dry goods in their refrigerator with no problems. But not everyone keeps their refrigerator cold enough. And even if kept cold enough, a refrigerator is opened so often, it causes moisture inside and can support mold or mildew growth.

We recommend storing our diets in an airtight container, either in a cool, dry place or in the freezer. In some parts of the country, the food remains fresh in a cool, dry place. In a hotter, humid climate, storing it in the freezer is best because any pantry food can become rancid or stale over time when not kept cool & dry enough. When storing it in the freezer, take out about a week’s supply at a time, and keep that in an airtight container in your pantry.

As for feeding our diets, they are fed the same as any pelleted food. As long as the food hasn’t gotten wet or pooped on, it’s not going to spoil in the food dish. No matter what kind of pellet you feed, any dry food should be removed if it gets wet or soiled.
