turquoise conure and pineapple conure

One minute they’re preening one another getting along. Then the next thing I know they’re fighting.

Answer:

Hi,

Both birds are Green Cheeked conures, but they are different color mutations. They are the same species, but that doesn’t mean they will get along. If these are tame pets, it’s better that they are not closely bonded with each other, or they will lose interest in being pets. Some birds simply do not get along and there is nothing you can do you make them like each other. Each bird needs its own cage. It’s OK to let them out together as long as they are not hurting each other. If the fighting becomes more serious, then it is best to keep them apart. It’s very stressful for birds to be around each other if they truly do not like each other.
