only one egg

my parakeet only laid one egg and its been four days is that normal?

Hi,

If the bird does not seem to be in distress, then she may have just formed the one egg. Does she have a mate? Is she at least 2 years old? A young bird might not lay more eggs because she isn’t ready for breeding. Poor nutrition or other health issues can cause reproductive problems. Each bird is different, and possibly she isn’t cut out to be a breeder.
