Budgie issues

hello, i have had 2 budgies for roughly 2 weeks now, i cant seem to make any progress taming wise whatsoever. they arent so scared that they fly to the back of the cage but when i open the door they scoot away from me entirely. i dont wanna give up on these little guys and i know it takes time but they act as if i just bought them.

Answer:

Hi,

Two weeks is nothing when trying to tame a bird. It can take weeks, months or longer to tame a bird. They haven’t even had time to settle in. They need to be settled into their new home and you will need to learn more about behavior and taming. Unfortunately, with two birds in the same cage, you may never be able to tame them. When two birds share a cage, they tend to bond and lose interest in people. They have no incentive to bond with a person, when they have another bird as a companion. You would have better luck with taming if each bird has its own cage. Please visit the links below for more information on behavior and taming.
