2 male cockateils

Hi

I have 2 male cockatiels, the oldest one is not hand readed where as the youngest one is. Lately the youngest has started to attack the oldest cockateil for no reason, following him around, attacking and also not letting him eat. What is going on,it is hormones, territorial or just being aggressive? They have recently moved into the same cage, its huge, they have loads of food and water dishes and also toys to play with.

Answer:

Hi,

I would separate the birds. Some birds get along OK until you put them in the same cage. Some birds are simply not compatible, and you should never force two birds to stay in the same cage if they are fighting or one is being bullied.

Thank you for asking Lafeber,

Brenda
