Can Guilden finch die if fed watercress my daughter had her young one on its own it was only small and the last thing she gave it was watercress I also said that they have tiny hearts and can die of sudden loud noise aswell am I right

Answer:

Hi Linda,

Birds can eat watercress – it is very good for them. But like anything, too much is not advised. Unless it ate a lot, watercress should not harm it. Birds can get startled by loud noises, but are not likely to die. Unless the bird gets so scared it flies into something and hurts itself. I don’t quite understand if you are saying the bird died? There can be many reasons for this. Gouldian finches are very susceptible to air sac mites, which cause breathing issues and then the bird dies. There are many other ailments that can result in death.
