African Grey treats

My CAG loves dry corn and grapes as treats, and I’ve read those can be awful when they are hormonal–maybe because of the starch? Do I need to restrict those treats? Thank you!

Answer:

Hi Peter,

I’m sorry we didn’t get to your question during the May 8 Webinar, but Dr. Lamb did answer live during the May 15 webinar – please view using the link below.

Treats in general do need to be restricted because if your bird gets too many calories, this can be the hormonal trigger. Dr. Lamb’s caloric chart will explain in detail if you view the webinar.

Thank you for asking Lafeber,

Brenda
