Age of my baby lorikeet

How old roughly is my baby lorikeet please??? Dark beak, slightly redining, has tail feathers though very short… Can eat lorikeet mix, though is still learning and drinking water is even trickier

Answer:

Hi,

It sounds like around 6 weeks, and the bird should definitely still be getting handfeeding formula. Whoever sold the bird should have known the age and showed you how to hand feed it. You should contact them to see what type formula the bird was on. He really isn’t old enough to just be eating a lory food, especially if this is a dry mix. They need a lot of liquid in their diet.

Thank you for asking Lafeber,

Brenda
