Air purifier

So I bought an air purifier with an ionizer and a Uv setting. Am I right to assume it is safe as long as I do not use the ionizer setting?

Answer:

Hi,

You definitely do not want to use the ionizer. However I can’t say it is safe for birds. I’ve never heard of the uv type until now – apparently this came about after COVID. I can’t find anything saying whether it is safe or not. I wouldn’t recommend using it without a written statement from the manufacturer saying it’s safe for use around pet birds. From the descriptions, I wouldn’t use it. The best purifiers for use around birds are from Austin Air.

Thank you for asking Lafeber,

Brenda
