Pittsburgh does not have an avian vet in the region. How do you assess a non board certified vet’s skill with bird?
Thank you for attending our webinar by Lisa Bono. Below is Lisa’s response:
What I would usually suggest is to contact bird clubs in your area and reach out on social media for others in your area. The locals usually know best. I go board certified when I can. There are other great avian vets out there that may not be board certified and there are ABVP vets that will consult with your local vet is more expertise is needed.
Find out all you can about the vet you choose to use. Where they went to school, how long they have been practicing and happy client rate.
