If they need to eat every 2 hours, what do they do at night?

Hi Brian,

When the parents feed the chicks, somehow the chicks are fine without being fed at night. It’s not fully understood why. But if you are having to hand feed the chicks for some reason, you have to feed around the clock or you are likely to find them dead in the morning. Finches are very hard to keep alive when you have to hand feed, but sometimes things happen and it is necessary. They are best off with the parents feeding them.
