Too many commercial brands in the market. Any recommendations on which one ideally suits most parrots and preferably used by breeders?

Hi Silva,
It can be daunting, but the best way to go is with a commercial brand. “Commercial” doesn’t mean mass produced just for profit. I know there are a lot of misconceptions, and unfortunately this has led owners to come up with home made concoctions for their birds, cats, dogs, etc. The problem there is that these home made diets are not based on science.
The best diet is a scientifically formulated diet, based on decades of information and trial & error. Even now, we are updating formulas as new advances are made in the area of nutrition. The reputable brands of parrot diets have information on their websites as to the source of their food and the science behind it. Of course we recommend our diets, and our pellets are widely used by parrot breeders. Our company’s founder, a Veterinarian, invented the first pelleted diet for pet birds, and his son, also a Vet, continues with the same quality of products. We also created foraging diets – Nutri-Berries, Avi-Cakes & Pellet-Berries – which are formulated to be nutritionally complete like a pellet, but they are not ground up.
