Big Cage

How well will my Conure react to getting a bigger cage? It’s not that his current cage is small, but it barely fits enough room for him to have space and toys

Hi Claire,

Some birds will take to a new cage immediately. I put the new cage next to the old one for a few days first, so the bird can get used to looking at it. Then I transfer everything to the new cage, trying to put perches and toys in the same location as the old cage. Hopefully he will like the new cage right away and have fun exploring everything. If not, let him go back in his cage but leave the toys in the new cage. Generally this will be enough to convince him how much better the new cage is.
