Birds dieing

I have lost 3 cockateils in the last 2 weeks they are in avery

Answer:

Hi Dennise,

I’m very sorry to hear about your birds. When multiple birds who live together start dying, it is often due to a virus or some type of contamination in the aviary. If you have the bodies, you should take them to an Avian Vet for a necropsy to determine why they died and if the rest of the flock is at risk. Otherwise, you need to take the surviving birds, or some of them if there are a lot, to an Avian vet to have them tested for diseases. Certain diseases are common with Cockatiels so the vet needs to send off blood for testing.

Thank you for asking Lafeber,

Brenda
