Bobbing Tail?

My 4 year old budgie has started bobbing his tail up and down and I have only noticed it tonight. I moved his cage upstairs to my room tonight as I noticed him shivering with his beak in his chest (our aircon is broken and it is very cold downstairs). Now it is 11:30pm and he is not asleep. I have noticed that his tail is bobbing up and down and he is making small noises. Is this just because he is afraid of the new environment or is he having trouble breathing like the internet suggested? Should I take him to the vet?

Answer:

Hi,

Unfortunately it sounds like your budgie is very sick. He is straining, either to breathe or poop. But he’s in discomfort and needs to be taken to a Vet as soon as possible.

Take care,

Brenda
