Budgie diet

A month ago I put my 13 yr old budgie on Lafeber food. He eats Avi Cakes, nutrinerries for senior parakeets and fruit nutrberries. In another cup he has a pellet which he sort of eats mixed with a small amount of quality seeds. His diet is honestly mostly Lafeber.

He gets broccoli carrots peas and organic brown rice which I steam.

He came very close to dying last year and I became adamant about feeding him food that he would thrive on.

I just became aware that one of the highest ingredients on the pkgs is SUGAR. According to what I have researched , this is extremely harmful.

Very concerned. A reply would be greatly appreciated. Too much sugar can kill a little budgie.

Answer:

Hi Barbara,

All of our diets have been very carefully formulated by top Avian Veterinarians and Nutritionists. The sugars in our diets are similar to what they would experience in the wild. We all love our birds and feed them these diets – we would never add filler ingredients or anything that would be harmful to our birds. I appreciate your concerns and if you have more detailed product questions, please contact our customer service at 800-842-6445 or customerservice@lafeber.com

Thank you for asking Lafeber,

Brenda
