Budgies fighting

We have two female budgies for a couple of months, they have been fine and seemed really bonded. Over the last few days days one of them has started being stroppy and will be aggressive to the other one.

There are no eggs or places to lay them, it seems like the aggressive one seeks attention from the other but the other budgie seems like they don’t want the “bonding” attention and this seems to spark the aggressive behaviour.

She will chase her for a short spell but not continously and there have been brief fighting which is more than the usual squabble.

Should i sit this out for a few days and hop it gets better and they return to liking each other again

Some squabbles are fine, but if it escalates to feathers being ripped out or blood being drawn, you will have to separate them. If one bird chases the other constantly, that is also not a healthy situation. But as long as the fighting isn’t most of the time, then it’s fine to keep the together.
