Bumble foot and perches

Referring to the question of bumble foot: 1. what do you say about birds ( mine is a gc conure) that seem to like staying on the same perch? 2. what do you think about the rope perches? I have a “bungie” rope which gives her great exercise as she climbs up and down, along with the balance of landing on the moving object.

Answer:

Hi Cindy,

If you have a natural branch as a perch, then that helps exercise the feet, even if she stays on the same perch. The grapevine or manzanita perches are great! You can try placing the shorter half perches in places where she might climb to reach a toy or treat.

Yes, the rope perches are good as long as you replace it if it gets too frayed. Most are a very tight weave and will last for a long time.
