Cockatiel’s leg is dislocated

My 10 months old male cockatiel broken his leg a day ago, got himself crushed in a door crevice. His left leg is dislocated from the hip with no movement. The vet said we can do nothing about it and can only make life easier for him. He’s being pretty much of his older self now, but of the limping. He is using his wing and beak to move around as compensation for his leg. What do I do? 🙁

Answer:

Hi,

I’m sorry this happened to your bird. If you are not confident with the vet’s diagnosis, please seek a second opinion. We are not allowed to give out medical advice, and would not be able to help anyway without examining the bird in person.

Thank you for asking Lafeber,

Brenda
