Cockcktail bird live alone


can my cockatiel bird live without partner? i have single female i dont know how much she’s age. my cockatiel bird was came to my home himself before 1year, i think he was male so i bought to him a female partnar.but he all time fights with her ..
but my cockatiel rub me on my hand
and i think he wants to mate. i really dont know it is male or female ..
so i confused ..
just told me what can i do.
can my cockcktail bird live without any partner?
i really love my cockatiel bird he was any time with me.

Hi Shivali,

I don’t understand if you are saying you have 1 or 2 birds? If your bird is a pet that you handle, then you are his companion so you don’t not need to get another bird for him. If you put 2 birds in the same cage, in most cases they will eventually get along and not be tame anymore. If you have a bird that doesn’t like people, then yes, it is a good idea to try to find it a companion.
