Coctaile

I have a 1 month old coctail bird he started flying around the house I don’t know what to do to gain his trust and to have a bond with him could you care to help me with this issue please

Answer:

Hi,

Your cockatiel has to be older than one month if it is flying and eating on his own. He has to be at least 3 months old. As for taming, it’s very hard to tame a bird that can fly away from you. You would have better luck if you has his wings trimmed until you can tame him, and then you can let the feathers grow back later. I’ll give you the links to our behavior and training pages to help you understand how to work with him.
