It’s been a day and the pigeon has started to let me pet him. I also have given him a bigger box, he is less scared of me, I also have seen him eat seeds and drink water. He doesn’t seem sick, but if he starts showing symptoms, I’ll take him to a wildlife center right away.

He needs immediate Vet care for his broken wing. If the wing isn’t broken, then there is another reason why he was on the ground. He is a wild bird. When a wild bird seems to be less scared, more likely he is in worse shape than when you found him. He no longer has the energy to defend himself. Eating and drinking doesn’t mean he isn’t sick, it means he has a survival instinct. A sick bird won’t act sick, or this makes him more vulnerable to predators. And a sick bird will continue to eat and drink for as long as it can. I’ve seen birds die with their last bite of food in their beak. I can assure you he has mites or other external parasites and no telling what internal. A Vet or wildlife center can treat him and hopefully return him to the wild where he would prefer to be. It’s not fair to him to keep him in a box. Please do what is right for this poor bird.
