Conure self mutilating – Lamb Webinar

have you seen g c conures chew at their stomach area, where you showed in the slides?

Answer:

I have seen green cheek conure have feather plucking associated with this problem but interestingly its never been over the stomach. Its been in random other places (for example the shoulder area) but I have had owners bring them in for “plucking” and we find that is the reason why. I suspect it is because they have doing a displacement behavior (plucking) because they are painful. It just doesnt necessarily have to be over the effected area.
