My eclectus poop is in lime color.. does this means liver problem? He is going to be 5 months old.. we wanted to stop baby food so we kept nuts for him and fed baby food too.. he is drinks too much water
I would take him to an Avian Vet to see what might be going on. Both the color of the droppings and excessive thirst could indicate an internal problem, so the Vet probably needs to do blood tests and maybe some imaging. If you are still feeding baby formula at this age, and he has only had this and nuts, then nutrition is part of the problem. He should definitely be weaned by this age. I don’t believe in weaning a bird too early, but by now he should be capable of eating entirely on his own, and at most should only have some formula once a day, in a small amount. This would be only to help him feel secure if he happens to be a slow weaner. But my concern is his lack of weaning is more likely an indication of a health issue. There are viruses that can be passed through the egg to the chick, and he could possibly have something like this since before he hatched. The sooner you take him to a Vet, the more likely he can be treated. If you wait too long, whatever is going on could get beyond the point of treatment and he might not survive.
