Egg

I have A budgie a laden egg like two days ago and it’s not taking care of it or should I do should I keep it or take care of it or keep it warm I don’t know what to do

Answer:

Hi Vanessa,

If the bird has a mate, and you are trying to breed them, then you should have a nesting box for them. They almost always make mistakes on the first clutch, so it’s not unusual that she isn’t sitting on the egg. Also, she will most likely lay 4-6 eggs, every other day. Many hens do not start to sit on the eggs until most or all of the eggs have been laid. If you only have the one bird, then of course the egg can’t be fertile. Since she has no interest in it, you can throw the egg away.
