Egg laying

How long does it take for a cockatoo to lay an egg once the process of laying has started?

Answer:

Hi Maria,

Once she is actually starting to lay the egg, it comes out pretty soon. If she is straining, fluffed up, bobbing her tail heavily, breathing heavily, these are all signs of distress and you need to rush her to an Avian Vet with possible egg binding. If she is egg bound, time is critical.

Take care,

Brenda
