My Budgie layed two eggs and no more, what is wrong?

This is OK. A full clutch is generally 4-6 eggs, but every bird is different. Some will only lay 2 or 3. Young birds just starting to breed are more likely to lay fewer eggs. Also an older bird, that is probably ready to retire from breeding, might start laying fewer eggs per clutch. It is important that your birds are on a nutritionally balanced diet, and not just a loose seed mix. Inadequate nutrition can cause poor egg production. While they are nesting, you can also offer some cooked eggs with the shell crushed and cooked with the eggs. Also offer chopped veggies, fruits, leafy greens and multi grain bread. If your birds are on a diet like this, and still only laying a small clutch, then it is what is normal for that bird. Please review our feeding guide for more information:
